Monday Blues: H&M Blue My Mind

Hello my lovelies! This is a really sad Monday for me because I start classes today. This means my summer of nail art and fun is over. Let's just hope that I will be able to keep up with my challenges and posting schedule this semester. My Monday can certainly not be brightened but I will try to take care of your Monday Blues with this explosion of awesomeness.

H&M Blue My Mind in the sun
I will start by saying that it is impossible to get this color to photograph accurately. The sun pictures make it look lighter and the artificial light makes it look more blue than it is. It's a light royal blue with a touch of purple in it. I guess you will just have to see this one for yourself to understand its beauty. And trust me, it is spectacular!

This polish is actually pretty similar to the Astor I posted a couple of weeks ago. They are similar but not the same. The Astor is brighter and a tad more purple. I know it sounds silly but I'm glad I have them both in my collection. As for the resemblance to Nails Inc Baker Street, Blue My Mind is definitely in the same color family but it's lighter. I actually went into Boots after I purchased this so I had the chance to compare the two bottles side by side. And yes, I still want Baker Street despite having these two similar colors.

As for the formula of this polish, it was definitely what H&M polishes are usually like, namely thick. I added thinner to it after the first coat and the second coat was a lot better. This is definitely a pigmented polish and you could get away with just one coat depending on the length of your nails and the thickness of your coats. I like my coats thin though because of the danger of getting bubbles, so I did 2. It dried fast but I didn't like its shine so I applied a coat of Seche Vite to get that glass-like finish.

I think this is H&M's most popular polish and I can see why. It's definitely a color everybody should have in their collection. Check out what these ladies have come up with this Monday:

Gosia from Life in Color!
Marisa from Polish Obsession
Joanna from The Treasure Chest

Have a great week!

  6. Thank you Marisa! I'm doing ok so far. I'm glad you like this. I think one of the girls from the UK can get it for you. They always have it in H&M but not in the ones in my country.

Yes, it's the last year. Not very happy about it actually because I have to deal with real life after that, but I'm sure sick of so much studying. Thank you!
