Polish Days: Something New

Hello lovelies! It's the first Polish Days event of 2013! I can't believe how time flies. I feel like just a few days ago we were doing nail art for the Olympics and now it's January. I've lost count in how many of these things I've taken part in. This time we were challenged by Hannah to try something new. A new polish or a new technique. I show you new polishes a few times a week, so instead I chose to do a type of nail art I've never tried before: the cloud manicure.

This type of nail art was invented by Jane of Nailside and has become very popular in the nail polish community last year. It's pretty easy to do and you don't need any tools, just the brushes from the polishes will do. I won't go into detail because the creator has done a great tutorial, which you can see here

I decided to use only a-england polishes to do these nails. I love these polishes so much and I can trust that they will be opaque in just one coat. The only problem was, the a-england brush is not the best for this type of thing. The base color is my beloved a-england Tristam, and the other two colors are Excalibur and Elaine. My result is far from perfect but I guess it's decent for a first time. I have to experiment with different polishes and see what brushes work best.

I really liked how these colors worked together and I enjoyed wearing this a lot. I will surely do other cloud manis in the future. Please take a look below to see what the other Polish Days participants have done new this month!
