Avon Sequined Turquoise

Hello my lovelies! I'm back and I'm finally done with the awful exam. I can't wait to relax and do my nails! Can you believe I wore the same manicure for a whole week? That's so not normal for me. Anyway, today I have a gorgeous sparkly polish from Avon to show you.

I have a little love/hate relationship with Avon polishes and this one is no exception. They tend to wear terribly on me and I really don't know if it's about body chemistry or it's their nature. This is one of the first polishes I got from them and it took me a while to decide to get it. I kept seeing it in the brochure and it always caught my eye. It's no wonder cause it's very beautiful. I'm not sure if this is available anymore so if I created a lemming, I do apologize.

Sequined Turquoise consists of a sheer teal green base that is filled with tiny flecks. The weird thing is that I see some silver shimmer in the bottle but it completely disappears on the nail. The color looks a tad greener in real life compared to my photos. I wouldn't call it turquoise because it's darker, but it's still in the blue-green color family.

As I've mentioned before, the base of this polish is sheer, so 3 coats are needed to reach opacity. There were still some bald spots after the 3rd coat, but they weren't too visible. Other than that, it was pretty easy to apply. The problem was that I got tip wear less than a day after I applied it. It didn't chip in the 2 days that I wore this manicure, but I ended up running around with really bad tip wear on the second day, which I didn't like at all.

I'm actually kinda mad on these Avon polishes. Even though there are some beautiful colors, there is no way for me to wear them for more than one day. I haven't tried the Nailwear Pro+ ones though so maybe they improved the formula. Have you tried them? Any recommendations?

  3. This is absolutely gorgeous!! Sorry about the balding so quickly! I haven't worn any in a while, but I've never really had that problem. I usually wear the Nailwear Pro and the Speed Dry polishes. Maybe it is the chemistry, IDK. It's still pretty though!

    Glad your exam is over.

  5. I bought a few of the Nailwear Pro and they are also terrible! I love their colors but horrible tip wear on day one and severe chipping on days two and three. I was really disappointed with them.....

  7. I love Avon's sequins line! The suedes they came out with were also awesome, I bought 4, hehe. Avon polish works pretty well for me, though admittedly I only wear polish for 1-3 days tops--I enjoy change! It must be chemistry, I know there are other brands which don't do so well for me either though other people rave about them.

  8. I don't have any Speed Dry ones but I haven't heard good things about them either. I'm ok with the fact that it's chemistry. Now if only I would stop ordering from them!

  9. So I'm not the only one. I had terrible wear on the suede ones as well. I guess this brand is just not for us.

  10. Well it is! I'm surprised you haven't tried any. They are everywhere now with this new line. Maybe you shouldn't though because I'm not sure it's worth it.

  11. I don't wear a manicure a lot either. I sometimes change it every single day. But I want it to look decent if I don't have time and want to wait a day longer. I have some suede ones too and they literally scratched off my nail (because I didn't use top coat, obviously). I guess I don't get along with this brand and I should just stop buying them.

  12. I tried a suede too and it was awful! I kept the polishes and tried to convince myself that I may wear them again but I hate chipped polish so much that I probably should just toss them.
