Monday Blues: OPI Can't Find My Czechbook

Hello my lovelies! It's the first day of September which means summer is over but it also means it's time for a new start. There's something awesome about months that start on a Monday. It's the perfect day to make resolutions and start new projects. My resolution for this month is to be a better blogger and post more. Let's see how it's gonna go. The first blue of the month is a truly awesome one. It comes from the OPI Euro Centrale collection and it's the first polish from this collection that I actually own. I have previously tried You're Such a Budapest and My Vampire Is Buff, but wasn't impressed by neither of them. It's a whole other story with this one though.

I'm gonna start with one single word that can describe this polish: perfection. Everything about it is just awesome. It's an aqua blue creme with a hint of dustiness to it, which makes it elegant and unique. Seriously, this is such a gorgeous shade! I didn't purchase this polish for a long time because I was sure that I had something similar in my collection. Well, although I do have a couple of shades that are in the same range as this one, none of them are the same. This polish is very hard to photograph and if you google it you will find a ton of different versions that are more or less close to the true shade. I did my best to edit the pictures and make them as close to reality as possible but even my two computer screens show the pictures differently. One thing that you need to keep in mind is the word aqua, which means the shade is on the greener side of the blue spectrum.

Another awesome thing about this polish is the formula. It's a creamy miracle that goes on like butter and is almost opaque in one coat. I did thinner coats so there are two in these pictures. This shade reminded me of the aqua and gold nails from Katy Perry's Dark Horse video, so I decided to do my own version and sponged some Catrice The GlamoureX Factor on the tips. This is a colder type of gold so it showed up almost silvery in pictures but I can assure you it's actually gold.

I wasn't 100% happy with the result. I guess I envisioned something else when I first thought of this manicure. I should have probably used tape and recreated the original triangle design from the video. I guess I'm gonna do that next time. In the meantime don't forget to check out the Monday Blues of September in the links below.

Have a great week!

  1. Gorgeous shade of blue! I just love your swatches of it too. The silver you did after goes perfectly with it.
