Hello lovelies and happy Sunday! Yesterday was a good day. I cleaned my room, I caught up with answering all your comments and I did some nail art that I can't wait to show you tomorrow. So naturally, I had to end the day with writing this post for you. It's gonna take a lot of time for me to post all the swatches I've collected in the last weeks, especially since I have to do a lot of nail art posts too. I decided to start today with a winter polish from last year. Here's Androgynie!

I wore this one a few weeks ago and it took me nearly one year to try it. I guess I was afraid of being disappointed like a lot of people were. Androgynie comes from last year's Holiday Soiree collection, and is famous for being a difficult glitter. In the bottle you can see a lot of blue, green and gold glitter pieces, but a lot of people have complained that these don't come out of the bottle. Unfortunately, I had the same problem.

Androgynie consists of a black jelly base filled with tiny gold glitter, that is somewhat holographic, at least partially. There are also a lot of larger hex pieces, that are multicolored. As I stated before, the most frequent colors for these glitters are blue, green and gold. They have a tendency to settle at the bottom of the bottle and that's why I gave the bottle a good shake before application, and I also kept it a few minutes upside down. Unfortunately, this didn't help and I still ended up with very few hex pieces on my brush.

I did 3 coats of this and it applied pretty well. There was a slight tendency of dragging and that's why it needed the 3rd coat, to cover some bald spots. The jelly base is quite opaque, which hides the glitter pieces in the lower coats even more. After wearing it by itself for one day, I layered one coat of China Glaze Make A Spectacle over it. The idea came from someone on Instagram who asked if Make A Spectacle was Androgynie when I first posted a picture of it over black. So here's the two layered together.

This combo looks stunning, but I think Make A Spectacle over plain black looks just as good. I still like Androgynie for a vampy, glittery manicure, but I wish I could get the large glitter pieces on the nail. Maybe thinning it a bit next time could help. What do you think?
