Monday Blues: Subtle Checks

Hello my lovelies! It's that M day again, which means most of us will be bummed today. I'm trying to cheer myself up and be positive so hopefully today won't be that bad. The manicure I'm showing you in this post is totally me. There's an elegant polish and that subtle stamping that I love. Plus something that has been very trendy this season, namely a check design. Let's see what we are looking at here.

As you can see, the base color is one of those greys with a very slight blue hint. Next to a true grey this looks blue and next to a blue it looks grey. It's actually a darker version of & Other Stories Blunt Grey, but I'm happy to announce that I don't have any dupes for it in my collection. The polish is Essie Parka Perfect and comes from the Winter 2013 collection.

There's also a surprise with this polish because it has a tiny bit of shimmer. It's the kind of shimmer that only Essie does and it's only visible in some lights, but I think you can catch a glimpse of it if you look closely at the picture above. I loved the formula of this polish. It went on like butter and covered perfectly in 2 coats. For the stamping I used Kiko 624 Sky Blue and an image from plate BP-L006. This Born Pretty Store plate has tons of amazing geometrical designs that I'm a big fan of. I can see myself using it a lot in the future. This particular design is new in my collection so I had to use it as soon as I got it because I absolutely love this kind of pattern.

This manicure is great for work and goes well with this season. I can't tell you how much I love this polish. I will surely use it a lot in the future, so I'm really glad I bought it. Don't forget that you can use code MFL91 at checkout to get 10% off your Born Pretty Store order. Also you can check out the rest of the Monday Blues of this month by clicking the links below.
