Monday Blues: Dreaming of Snow

Hello my lovelies! It's almost dinner time in my neck of the woods so I think this is the latest I've ever posted the Monday Blues post. Better late than never is what I always say! I've been at work today and then I did some Christmas shopping and then here we are. I hear that there won't be any snow this Christmas in my town, which makes me a little sad because it's the only time of the year when I love snow. And that's because I can stay at home and don't have to shovel it around or anything like that. I'm trying to make myself feel better by looking at these nails. They totally remind me of snow and give me that winter feeling.

This manicure was made entirely with Essence polishes. I started with two coats of Essence Goofy-Blue from the Snow Jam collection of Winter 2012. It's the perfect winter blue with a touch of shimmer in it. On top of that, I created a glitter gradient using Icy Fairy, which is one of the new Effect nail polishes from Essence.

I bought this glitter because I was surprised by what I saw in the bottle. It's not one of those silver glitters you see everywhere. The larger glitter pieces have sort of a holo effect to them and there is tiny purple shimmer in the base. This shimmer didn't photograph too well but you can see it better in this direct light shot.

If this doesn't remind you of snow and ice, I don't know what will. I really hope you enjoyed these nails! Make sure you check out the rest of the Monday Blues of this month by clicking the links below.

Have a great week and happy holidays!

  1. How pretty! I wished I did more festive/wintery manicures this year but sadly, I either didn't have time or because my camera just broke over the weekend so I'm looking for a new one to replace it.

I love Goofy Blue!!! The addition of the glitter is really pretty too! No snow for us here either, but I'm fine with that ;0).

  3. Very pretty! I love the silver and blue together.
