Revlon Popular

Hello my lovelies! Now that the untried challenge is over, I can finally do a Pink Wednesday post. I haven't done one of these in a very long time so I'm excited. The one I'm showing you today is something that I don't  wear very often but it was on my wishlist since forever because it's so pretty. Take a look!

Revlon Popular indoors, artificial light

Popular was first released with the name Starry Pink in the same limited edition collection with Facets of Fuchsia and Blue Mosaic. Then they released the same shades under different names (Popular, Scandalous and Radiant) and I believe they are part of the permanent collection now. My ultimate goal was to complete this trio, but I also loved this delicate pink so much that I had to have it. It's full of tiny and larger hexagonal silver glitter, with the sheer base making it look like a jelly sandwich and making the glitter look white. So pretty!

I wore this polish a couple of weeks ago and you can see that my nails were getting a little too long. The color is a little pale for me right now, but I think it will be perfect when my so called tan washes off. It's very easy to apply and you don't need to fish for the glitter in the bottle. The glitter density is just right! I had to apply 3 coats because the base is on the sheer side, but I don't really mind because it's so easy to apply. I finished with a coat of Seche Vite like always.

I'm still surprised that I'm such a big fan of this polish, considering I don't usually wear light pinks. But what can I say, I love it! I can't wait to wear it in the winter when it's snowy outside. I'm sure it's gonna look dreamy!

I have this one and absolutely love it! Sometimes when I'm in a rush I'll just wear one or two coats of it for a more nude/sheer "my nails but better" type look... I love how versatile it is that way. It's also fun to layer over other polishes or even over other glitters to create a jelly sandwich look :)

  7. Your swatch photos of this are really pretty...I think i bought this one when it came out and had it's first name...or maybe it's a different one then what I am thinking of...can ya tell whatever I bought I only dabbed it on a swatch nail to see if I needed a pink base coat under it or what??? I need to dig and see if I do have this or not...I know there was a pink one that got a new name and became part of the core line but then in reading Lisa N's comment she says she wanted this one and never found it and now they are sold out ...so maybe what I have is something else. If that's the case I am going to need to try to make up something close to this myself!

Love pink Wednesdays...to me it always means honoring a shade many polish wearers seem not to favor much unless they are older and lived with pink nails for eons as one of the few shades we ever wore...and also being a X2 breast cancer survivor i always think of that too and see pink Wednesdays as honoring all those who have done battle with that disease.
