Monday Blues: Barry M Eat My Dust

Hello my lovelies! It's been ages since I've written a post and I feel kinda rusty. I should apologize for my absence from the blog in the last weeks but I've been away most of the time and really busy when I was in town. The next weeks aren't looking good either, but I'll try to squeeze some blogging in between. As I mentioned before, I was away for over a week and the destination of my journey was Dublin. So I had the chance to buy a few polishes from brands that aren't normally accessible to me. Of course the first one was Barry M, which is a big favorite of mine. Everybody loves their Gelly polishes but I've always had issues with drying time so when they brought out the Speedy Quick Dry polishes I couldn't wait to try them out. I got a couple and the first one I'm showing you today is a beautiful blue.

Barry M Eat My Dust indoors, artificial light

Eat My Dust is a light periwinkle creme that can seem a bit lilac when compared with warmer shades of blue but looks very blue when compared to true shades of lilac. It also looks more blue in natural light compared with artificial light, which is what I used for these photos. I wouldn't call this a pastel because it's quite bright, even though it's a light shade.

Another new thing for this line is the wide brush. I think I've mentioned several times that I'm not a fan of such brushes because I like precision, so I'm not very happy about this change. I very much preferred the old Barry M brush that was just perfect in size. I managed to get this polish opaque in just two coats, even though the first one came out really streaky, mostly because of the brush. It does dry very fast but I had a big issue after it dried: bubbles. Tons of tiny bubbles showed up on all my nails. Luckily, the top coat smoothed most of them out so you can't see them in my pictures. There are more bubbles on my left hand though so I'm happy it's my Cinderella hand.

This polish is absolutely beautiful and perfect for spring. I don't know what to say about the bubbling issues though. I will try the other Speedy polish I purchased and let you know how I get along with it. Meanwhile don't forget to check out the rest of the Monday Blues of May in the links below!

Have a great week!

  1. Arata foarte frumos! E extrem de placuta nuanta. Pun pariu ca ai vreo 2-3 dupe-uri pt ea prin Helmer ;) Am marit poza sa vad bulele dar nu am vazut nici una. Face treaba buna Seche-ul.
