Elephant Walk

Hello my lovelies! How is your summer so far? I feel like the 15th of August is the most summery day of all. A lot of people are on vacation and even those that aren't can enjoy themselves because it's Saturday. To celebrate all that I have a very summery manicure for you. I haven't worn too many neons this summer because I can't wear them to work. But now that I'm on vacation myself, I have indulged in some crazy manicures and pedicures. Here's the first one!

The star of the show is a nail polish called Grass is Lime Greener from the China Glaze Spring 2014 City Flourish collection. I borrowed this polish from a friend because I needed to try it out as it was so bright and beautiful that I couldn't resist. It's a very bright lime green creme, almost a neon but not quite. I do own a similar polish, namely Be More Pacific from last year's summer collection from China Glaze. They are very similar but not the same. Grass is Lime Greener is brighter, while Be More Pacific is a bit more muted.

The formula of this polish was absolutely horrible. It's chalky and hard to apply, it doesn't level out, it's a mess. I had to do three coats to make it look decent but let me tell you, they didn't go on smoothly at at all. Be More Pacific has a much better formula and can be opaque in just two careful coats. I decided to do an accent nail using one of the City Flourish polishes that I own myself, so I chose Lotus Begin, one of my favorite summer polishes. Finally I stamped the elephant image from plate BP-L010 using Konad Black.

This is the perfect manicure to wear in the summer. It's such a pity that this polish doesn't have a better formula because it's gorgeous. I'm happy that I've chosen Be More Pacific instead of this one. Hope you liked these nails! I wish you all a sunny and fun weekend!
