Born Pretty Store Thermal Top Coat

Hello my lovelies! Happy new year! It's been a long time since I posted on this blog and I won't go into the multiple reasons for that, but I hope to return since I really miss it. I've still been doing my nails almost weekly, mostly without nail art, and I even managed to grow them quite a bit over the holidays. Unfortunately, my job doesn't allow me to wear long nails, so I had to chop them off. There are a lot of cool new things in the nail world that I really want to try out and am excited about. One of the things I really wanted to get my hands on is a thermal color changing top coat* and the lovely people at the Born Pretty Store were kind enough to send one my way. Here's how it looks!

Turquoise and Feathers

Hello my lovelies! It's the first day of September, which for many people means the first day of fall. I, however, am not ready for summer to be over and since the fall equinox is only on the 22nd, we're going to pretend it's still summer. My nails are really short at the moment because they keep splitting and breaking, but I'm still wearing bright blue polish on them so it's all good. Today I want to show you an older manicure that has been sitting in my folders and I think deserves to be posted. Take a look!

Monday Blues: Subtle Galaxy

Hello my lovelies! Sorry for my posts being so sparse lately but I figure it's better to post when I feel like it rather than forcing myself to create content that I'm not really excited about. I've been really picky about my manicures lately, I still do nail art almost every week but the results don't feel that original or unique for me. Today I want to show a manicure that I enjoyed a lot. Galaxy nails have been around for ages, so it's nothing original, yet it's one of the types of nail art that I always feel nostalgic about. Plus you don't need any skill or special tools to make it look awesome.

Monday Blues: Desert Sand

Hello my lovelies! Long time no see! I promise that this time I am back for good. The reason I've been away this long was a huge exam that is an important milestone in my career as a doctor. I've been studying for this for months and months, to the point where I wasn't doing anything else. I even stopped doing nail art. This weekend, after weeks and weeks of wearing just a plain nail color on my nails, I did some nail art again. It seems that it's something that you don't forget so easily. I remembered how much fun it was to do and I think I'm gonna stick with it in the future. I also missed blogging so here I am! This is the first post exam manicure.

Monday Blues: Geometric Mermaid

Hello my lovelies! It's Monday again but this time the sun is actually shining. The rain we've had in the last week has made me feel quite down and I haven't been very productive. Hopefully today will be better. This weekend I got inspired to do some mermaid nails. I was absolutely sure that my huge stamping plate collection had at least one fish scale image but it turns out it doesn't. So I ended up using something similar but with a geometrical theme. I used some mermaid tail colors and this is what came out.

Monday Blues: Feather Strokes

Hello my lovelies! It's still Sunday afternoon as I'm writing this post and I feel really proud of myself that I managed to prepare it ahead of time. I usually write it on Monday after I finish work and I return from the gym, so I always feel tired and uninspired when I do it. That's why I often make myself feel excited about the nails even though all I wanna do is fall asleep watching some Netflix. But now I really feel excited to show you these nails because I just finished them a few hours ago. They remind me of spring and make me really happy. So take a look!

Monday Blues: Ombre Gradient

Hello my lovelies! It feels like just yesterday it was Friday and I have no idea where the weekend went. I feel less tired but I still could use some more rest. But who doesn't, right? Luckily, this week won't be very busy for me. Maybe I will even have some time to play with nail art. Today I have a manicure inspired by the amazing Colette from My Simple Little Pleasures. I saw her video this weekend and I immediately wanted to recreate her manicure. I tend to never copy other people's manicures but this time I just couldn't stay away. This shows how much I admire this wonderful nail artist and how much I love her work.

Monday Blues: Sweet Paisley

Hello my lovelies! I won't pretend that I don't feel tired and stressed out after this Monday. But at least I got everything done and can now relax and write this post for you. Another great thing is that looking at my nails makes me happy, because I have a lovely manicure on them. The colors and pattern are rather spring appropriate, so I will apologize for being a little early with that. But aren't they lovely?

Monday Blues: Happy Blue Year!

Hello my lovelies! Welcome to the Monday Blues of 2017! I am not a big fan of the new year resolution thing, just because you don't need to wait for the first day of the year, or of the month, or of the week to start something. If you feel like doing something, why not start right now? And why do you need the new year "excuse" to become a better person? So to me this is just another opportunity to continue what I was doing and try to better myself like I do every day. Sadly, I have to go back to work tomorrow so I'm taking this day to enjoy as much relaxation time as possible. The first Monday Blues of the year features one of my first ever polishes and my very first China Glaze blue. I love it!

Monday Blues: China Glaze Blue-Ya!

Hello my lovelies! Today I'm happy to announce that I'm already on holiday. Not much to do but relax and enjoy myself for two weeks. I know not everyone is as fortunate as I am so of course I have a blue polish to cheer you up if you still have to go to work. It's been a while since I purchased a China Glaze polish, but even though it's my favorite brand I try to limit my purchases since I already have a huge collection. With this polish it was love at first sight and I had to get myself a bottle eventually. I was happy to see that it's so much better in real life than it shows up in pictures. My pictures don't do it justice at all so, I will try to compensate with words.

Monday Blues: Leaves

Hello my lovelies! It seems that the cold is giving us a few days off, at least where I live. I am not a big fan of autumn so this is great news for me. I know a lot of people love this season, so I must be the only one who doesn't like it. I just hate cold weather and rain. Last week, in the hope of feeling a little better about the weather outside, I created some nails inspired by fall leaves. I wore them for a whole week and enjoyed them quite a lot. Here they are!

Monday Blues: Creepy Eyes

Hello my lovelies! Happy Halloween! I don't usually celebrate this holiday since there's no real tradition for it in my country. Nobody goes trick-or-treating here, so there's no point in Halloween without candy. But I was in the mood to do some themed nails this year because I haven't done any in ages. I then realized that I have very few Halloween stamping plates, so I didn't have many options. I finally got inspired by the immensely talented Ohmygoshpolish to freehand some creepy eyes. Of course mine aren't as cool as her's because she used a magnetic polish but I still think they came out ok.

Monday Blues: Dreamology

Hello my lovelies! How's your Monday so far? I decided to have a long weekend so I took today off to catch up on my rest. I have a fun new stamping plate to show you today, along with the blue manicure that I created using it. There are quite a few Moyra plates in my collection, and I am very fond of them because they have beautiful and original designs for an affordable price. Not all my Moyra plates stamp perfectly (reviews here, here and here), but most of them are good quality and I think they've learned from their mistakes because the last ones I've purchased are top notch. The one I'm showing you today came out this year and I'm happy to report that I had no issues with it. Here's the manicure I created using it.

Monday Blues: Fall Inspiration

Hello my lovelies! Let me start by saying that today's weather is really giving me the blues, Monday Blues that is. It's been raining all day and I just hate it. The only thing to lift my spirits is the manicure I'm about to show you. I created this one by getting inspired by fall colors. For me the good fall colors are beautiful shades of grey, dark blue, purple and even a bit of orange. None of that brown and khaki if it's possible. So I took these shades (with the exception of orange) and combined them in a manicure. The final result makes me really happy.

Monday Blues: Fall Roses

Hello my lovelies! It seems that time is flying by because September is almost over. The past week has been quite cold where I live, so the autumn feeling can't be avoided anymore. This time I got inspired by tones of grey and I added some double stamping to spice things up a bit. This is what came out.

Monday Blues: Periwinkle Flowers

Hello my lovelies! Hope you are doing great on this busy Monday! The weather is still really hot where I live so I can't help but feel that summer is not over yet. That's why I decided to wear some flowers on my nails this week. This manicure really reminds me of spring and I don't mind at all. Let's all enjoy the sun until we are able to because we are sure gonna miss it in the next months.

Monday Blues: Tiffany Tribal

Hello my lovelies! I am back! I had two relaxing weeks with lots of traveling and a bit of adventure too. I don't regret being back because I missed my home and doing my nails, but going back to work is always hard. Today's manicure isn't particularly complicated because I didn't have a lot of time to do it. Instead I spent a lot of time filing and cleaning my nails because they were a hot mess when I came home. After that I only did some simple stamping over a color I love and haven't used in ages. I promise that I will do something more complicated in the next days. But until then, here's today's manicure.

Monday Blues: Sunny Days

Hello my lovelies! As you are reading this, I am already off for a much needed vacation. There's gonna be some road tripping, some sight seeing and some beach time as well. What I'm most excited about is getting out of the city and that true holiday feeling. In honor of all that, I created some blue nails using a very cute image and a gorgeous stamping polish. Take a look!

Monday Blues: Galaxy Gradient

Hello my lovelies! Another sunny and hot Monday in July has arrived. I'm not complaining because work hasn't been hard today, not to mention that I have a beautiful manicure on my nails. I was in the mood for a gradient and I also had a wedding on Saturday, so I decided to do something extra sparkly. I dedicated this manicure to my lovely friend Kinga, because it was her birthday on Friday. Happy birthday, dear!

Monday Blues: Teal Mandala

Hello my lovelies! Welcome to the first Monday Blues of July! I hope your day is as nice and sunny as mine is, and if not, I have some blue nails to cheer you up. The weather was rainy all afternoon yesterday so I was in the mood for something more fall appropriate. It's nice to mix it up every once in a while, even in the summer. So I picked up one of my favorite teal blue polishes that I haven't used in ages. This is the final result.
