Vintage Calligraphy

Hello my lovelies! It's been a long and rainy week in my neck of the woods, and the weekend isn't bringing the sun either. So I will be mostly stuck inside, catching up on my couch time. The manicure I'm showing you today isn't something I usually do. I'm more for colorful nails and if I go for darks I go full vampy. Neutrals are not my thing, but I couldn't resist the images on the 05 Vintage stamping plate from Moyra. They called for something neutral and I had just the stamping polish for that. Here's what came out.

I'm not totally sure, but I think that this is the first time I do double stamping. I'm not a fan of having too much stuff on my nails, so that's why I stayed away from it until now. This, however, doesn't look like too much because of the neutral colors and I only did it on a couple of nails. I started with a base of Claire's Nude Gel, a caramel colored creme that is opaque in two easy coats.

I stamped the calligraphy image from the Moyra Vintage plate using Moyra stamping polish SP03 Burgundy Red. I then used Konad White to stamp the quill and the ink pot from the same plate on two of the nails. I really like how they look with just the writing so I decided to leave some of them like that. Plus it would have looked too busy if I had stamped something else on top of the other nails too. This was just right.

Even though this is not something I normally go for, I really enjoyed wearing these nails. The Vintage plate is something amazing, with lots of images I can't wait to use. The review for this plate along with the rest of the Moyra plates that I haven't shown you yet will be up on the blog soon. Meanwhile, I wish you all a very nice and relaxing weekend!
