Bondi New York NYPD

Hello lovelies! Today is Autism Awareness Day and everywhere in the world, buildings are lighted up blue to support this cause. There are several ways in which everyone can participate in this event. To find out how you can light it up blue, click on this link. Or course us from the nail polish community decided to do our part by wearing blue on our nails today. The polish I want to show you comes from a new brand called Bondi New York. The polishes are 5 free (free of formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, camphor, DBP & toluene) and all profits are donated to a non-profit organisation. Today I'm showing you one of the 20 gorgeous shades, a navy creme called NYPD*.

Bondi New York NYPD, 1 coat, no top coat, indoors, artificial light
What you see in the picture above is one single coat of NYPD with no top coat on. First of all, the color is unbelievably beautiful. I love navy cremes so this was right up my alley. The pigmentation is amazing and it only needs one coat to achieve opacity. Let's just look at one more picture of this beauty by itself.

I love everything about this polish, including the bottle. For some reason I'm a fan of square bottles and even though this one is pretty hard to hold in pictures, it has a luxurious feel to it. I had a little trouble with the square cap because at first it didn't want to come off and I thought it wasn't supposed to. But then I found out that it actually does come off and I tried a bit harder. It finally lifted and revealed a smaller cap that is very easy to hold while you polish. The brush is pretty small in size and I personally prefer it that way because it's great for precision. Drying time is short and you can see how shiny it dries in the photos above. To spice it up a bit I added some small studs and then covered everything with a coat of top coat.

I really love this type of nail art where you have one single stud, rhinestone or glequin at the base of the nail. It can also be done with a dot of polish. I think it's very elegant and delicate.

All in all, I'm very pleased with this polish and this new brand. I have to confess though that it's a little pricey for my taste. If you are interested you can get it from the Bondi New York website or from Harlow & Co. Both of them ship internationally, of course. Please don't forget to check out the other blue manicures for today's cause.
