Born Pretty Store Water Decals Review

Hello my lovelies! Today I have another Born Pretty Store review for you. I've been meaning to try their water decals for a long time and I finally received some for review. I have a previous experience with water decals and know that they are pretty easy to work with, but I haven't tried the ones they sell. The ones I picked out are full nail designs and they look like this.

Born Pretty Store water decals*

So what you get here are 4 sets of 10 designs of different sizes in order to fit each nail. The decals I chose can be found here and they are the beautiful henna inspired designs (D212-215). I really like the detail on these and they look amazing on the nail.

I tried to do a mini tutorial on how I applied these but they do require both hands and I have no tripod at the moment, so it was impossible to take decent pictures. I do have an older tutorial here, if you wanna check it out. Basically, all I did was cut each decal apart, then dip it in water. After it gets wet, the decal separates from the paper and you can place it on the nail. After it dries for a bit you can clean any excess on the edges with acetone and cover the nail with top coat to protect the design. The base color I used here is Jessica Surfer Boyz 'n Berry that I've previously shown on Monday.

I really like these because they are easy to use and the perfect way to create nail art for those who are not good at painting or stamping. Plus the designs are beautiful. One thing I would like to mention however, is that they are not very big. My nails are not long at the moment and there was very little excess because they mostly fit the whole length of my nail. My thumb nail is very wide and has a larger nail bed and the largest decal barely covered it. So if you have longer nails you might not be able to use these on the whole nail.

The decals can be found here. There are also a lot of other designs in the store, so make sure you check them all out. You can use code MFL91 at checkout to save an extra 10%. Shipping is free!

Hope you enjoyed this review! Thanks for stopping by!

  2. ooh pretty! I have some decals to try too, but I've never used them. How long will I have to leave the decal in the water? :)

  5. Just a few seconds was enough for the paper on the back to get wet and for the decal to come right off. It's easier if you slide the decal from the paper instead of trying to peel it off. Can't wait to see your result!

  7. That's a great idea! I'm not that good at gradients so I usually stamp over them to make them look better. These would be great for that.
