Easter Eggs

Hello my lovelies! It's Saturday and it's Easter weekend in my country, so I decided to post some Easter themed nails even though a lot of you have already celebrated this holiday. I don't usually do any nails for this holiday because it's not one I'm particularly fond of, but one of my new Moyra plates had a really cute Easter egg design that inspired me so I decided to do some decals. The plate I'm talking about is 24 Primavera and it's one of the newest they came out with. I promise to do a review as soon as I can but until then take a look at this manicure!

Monday Blues: Butterfly Decals

Hello my lovelies! Another Monday is upon us and all I'm wishing for is that I survive it without too much stress. A few months ago I was contacted by a new online shop that sells nail art products. They are called LadyQueen and they asked me if I could review some of their nail art stuff. Of course I said yes because I always like to try out new nail stuff. They are based in Asia, so it took quite some time for the package to arrive to me. I guess that's the only drawback since the shipping is free anyway. I have three things to show you from their shop and today I'm starting with some lovely butterfly water decals.

Holo Stained Glass

Hello my lovelies! It's Saturday! That should be enough to get us all in a good mood. I'm also really excited because I get to show you a manicure that I'm really happy with. I've been following Instagram and YouTube and admiring all the amazing decals people are doing, but every time I tried doing some I failed miserably. I did manage to do some water marble decals a few weeks ago because those are easier to do than stamping decals. I'm still working on creating some successful stamping decals, but today I want to show you some vinyl decals that I created using a method I saw in a YouTube tutorial created by Ohmygoshpolish. If you wanna know how to make these head over to her channel and watch her video. I'm sure you will love all her videos in fact. But first take a look at my manicure!

Water Marble Reloaded

Hello my lovelies! What are you up to on this fine Saturday? The sun is shining but it's freezing cold, so I'm not planning to get out of the house today. Instead I'm gonna relax and also write this post to show you some nails that I created last week and wore until a couple of days ago. If you've known my blog for a while you might know that I sometimes get inspired to create a water marble on my nails. This doesn't happen more than a couple of times a year though because water marbles are frustrating and they take a lot of time. It's been over a year since I created my last one so I was kind of in the mood to try one. But this time instead of using the regular method of dipping my finger in the water and creating a mess, I decided to create water marble decals. Here's how they turned out.

Neon Marbled Decals

Hello my lovelies! It's the weekend which means I finally have time to write some posts. This was another crazy week for me and an even crazier one will follow so I'm just glad to be able to get some rest and relaxation for a change. The manicure I'm showing you today is from before my vacation. I got inspired by a tutorial from the talented Cristina from Let them have Polish! to create some marbled decals. I will explain everything in detail but first let's take a look at the final result.

Born Pretty Store Glow in the Dark Water Decals Review

Hello lovelies! It's time for me to show you another another fun nail art accessory from the Born Pretty Store. I love to play with glow in the dark stuff, so when I saw these cute water decals I couldn't resist them. I chose the star shaped ones because stars are one of my weaknesses. And then I got inspired by Kinga to create some galaxy nails and incorporated the stars in the design. Here's what came out.

Monday Blues: Kiko 294

Hello my lovelies! Ready to start another week? I've had a fun weekend and can't say that I'm too happy about Monday, but I love my work so I don't mind that much. As usual I have some awesome blue nails to make your day better and take those Monday Blues away. You all know by now that I'm a big fan of Kiko polishes, especially because of the great formula and the huge variety of colors. Their cremes are the best, so every time I go into a Kiko store I pick up a few. That's how I ended up with this gorgeous blue creme. It was love at first sight!

My First Stamping Decal

Hello my lovelies! In today's post I'm gonna tell you about a new technique and a great polish. How many of you have heard about the stamping decal technique? Basically it's an advanced stamping technique that can help you create multicolored decals. I've tried this several times before and failed miserably, but I got inspired to try it again by two lovely ladies who recently filmed tutorials for this technique. By watching their videos I managed to correct some of the issues I was having and made my first successful stamping decal. To check out the tutorials click on these links: heart Nat and Lucy's Stash. Here's my final manicure.

Born Pretty Store Water Decals Review

Hello my lovelies! Today I have another Born Pretty Store review for you. I've been meaning to try their water decals for a long time and I finally received some for review. I have a previous experience with water decals and know that they are pretty easy to work with, but I haven't tried the ones they sell. The ones I picked out are full nail designs and they look like this.

Easy Angry Birds nails using water decals - review and tutorial

Hello loves! It's Friday! Yay! Since it's technically the weekend, I'm gonna show you something really fun today. I received these water decals from KKCenterhk to review for you guys. I chose these Angry Birds ones because I love that game and I think they are so cute! Here's my final manicure.

How fun are these? It was the first time I used water decals so it was totally new for me. I had no experience whatsoever and they were so easy to use. I do like these because there's no stickiness involved. As long as they are wet you can move them around as much as you like and they are very thin. After you put on top coat they level out perfectly.

They come as a sheet that has 24 water decals. What I didn't like is the lack of instructions. They should include some instructions for people like me that don't know how to use them. That's why I decided to do a little tutorial for you guys, including some of the tips and tricks I've learned while applying these.

Step 1: Paint your base color on the nails and let it dry. I used Gabrini M106 (swatches coming soon) as a base and then sponged OPI No Room for the Blues near the cuticles to mimic the sky. Finally I sponged little lilac clouds using China Glaze Light as Air. I was trying to mimic the background in the Valentine's Day levels of the game (since some of the decals have little hearts on them). I then added a coat of top coat to level it all out and let it dry for a few minutes. Sadly I forgot to take a picture of the background without the decals but you get the idea.

Step 2: Choose the decals you want to use and cut them up.

Step 3: Put your decals in the water. You can put a few at a time because they have to be there for 20-30 seconds. The best way to remove them from the paper is by sliding them off. Don't try to peel them because they are really thin and they will bend easily, making it hard for them to get straightened again. The moment they slide right off the paper is the moment you can remove them from the water.

Step 4: Slide off the decal from the paper and put it on the nail. Now, there are several ways to do this. You can use tweezers (as shown in the picture). This might look very professional but I found it harder than using your actual fingers. If you don't want to do it "like a sir", use your fingers and just place the decal on the nail. It might seem messy but it gives you better control. The decal sticks to your finger so you can't drop it like you can with tweezers.

Step 5: After placing the decals in the desired positions on the nails, use a coat of top coat to cover them. This is mandatory because these will come off otherwise. The top coat also gives beautiful shine to the nails. Another tip would be waiting a bit before applying the top coat. The decals need to dry so they become a bit adherent to the nail. If they are still very wet they will slide right off when you run the polish brush over them.

And that's it! You then have amazing colorful images on your nails. This is especially great for people who are not very good at nail art. It's also a very quick way to spruce up a manicure. These will last you as long as you manicure lasts. There's no way they can come off once covered with top coat. I tried to take a picture that included my thumb but I'm terrible at the "claw" pose. I immediately get a cramp when I do that. Here's the best one I got.

The decals can be purchased from KKCenterhk and ship internationally. There are hundreds of different designs to choose from. They've also sent a coupon code for my lovely readers. Enter "lacquerbuzz" in the coupon code box and you will get 10% off your entire order.
