Alphabet Nail Art Challenge: Letter S

Hello my lovelies! It's Saturday so that means it's time for another installment of the Alphabet Nail Art Challenge. This week's letter is S, so I decided to show you a scaled gradient. If you don't know what a scaled gradient is, don't worry because I had no idea either until a couple of weeks ago. But then I discovered the talented artist called Simply Nailogical. She's the queen of scaled gradients and she also has lots of tutorials on her blog and Instagram profile. The particular one that inspired me can be found here. Of course I only did two layers and used two colors for my manicure, so it's only half as awesome as her's. I still loved the result though.

Instead of using holographic shades of blue like her, I went for purple to go with the dress I planned to wear on that particular day. I used Catrice Dirty Berry (the darker purple) and Eveline Holografic Shine 405 (the lighter purple), two scattered holo polishes that go very well together. The chevron guides that I used are from the Born Pretty Store and you can find them here (use code MFL91 to get 10% off your purchase).

Even though I only did two layers for this scaled gradient it still took me centuries to create. You really need a lot of patience and the cleanup is the worst part. But after all, I think the result is totally worth it. It's such a unique effect! Plus the holo makes it even more beautiful. I didn't have any sun back when I created these so I did my best to catch a glimpse of the holo in artificial light.

I really hope you enjoyed these nails as much as I did. I'd like to thank Simply Nailogical for the inspiration and for the tutorials. Don't forget to check out what the other ladies have created for this week's theme here:
