Sat-ART-Day Club: Tarts

Hello my lovelies! It's finally Saturday! I'm having a 3-day weekend this week so today is actually my second day of relaxation. This week has been pretty tiring, especially because it was the first week of university, but I guess it could have been worse. Today's post is part of a challenge that I'm very excited to be taking part in. The Facebook group Crumpet's Nail Tarts is a great place for nail polish and nail art enthusiasts. These lovely ladies have created so many nail art challenges and amazing manicures! I joined the group because I found out about a new weekly challenge that is called Sat-ART-Day Club. The cool thing about it is that the themes are announced way ahead so there's plenty of time to work on them. I managed to do half of this month's challenges weeks ago. The one from today was actually on my left hand back when I did this one on my right hand. The theme is: tarts. Here's what I came up with.

Aren't these nails totally crazy? First off, I want to apologize for the awkward poses in these pictures. My left  hand does not know how to pose because it doesn't have the "training" my right hand has. These photos are older so they are in my old light box.

I wasn't sure what tarts were so I started googling them and the first things that came up were fruit tarts. So I decided to use all the fruit options I had to create these tarts on my nails. Of course a lot of these fruits are not what you would put on a tart, but I guess you shouldn't take it so serious.

The base color of this mani is Essie A Crewed Interest, which was the best idea I had for a vanilla type filling of a tart. I then used both stamping and fimos to decorate the nails. The plate I used is CH20 and I used a bunch of polishes together to make double-colored fruits. I had a little trouble applying the fimos because they kept lifting up and I still haven't managed to avoid the bubbling of the top coat around them. If you have any suggestions about how to avoid this I would kindly ask you to leave them in the comments section.

All in all I had a lot of fun creating this mani. I'm so glad I joined this challenge because the themes are nothing but fun! Here are the other ladies in the Sat-ART-Day Club:

I love how you used double polish to create fruit, that's always somewhat of a challenge to me. And the little decals, how cute!!!! =))

  8. I'm glad you like it! It's funny because I had this ready from almost a month ago. But the one for next week I did just this weekend. I was really undecided about the whole 50s thing.
I think I missed your post though. Will look for it tonight when I get home.
