Flormar GL01

Hello my lovelies! I woke up this morning to a very cloudy and rainy weather. I sure hope fall isn't already here because that would make me very sad. Today's theme for the untrieds challenge was a very easy one, namely glitter. I initially wanted to post one from Shimmer polish but I pushed that post to Friday so I can show this Flormar glitter first because everyone was very curious about it. A few days ago I went out and got two more of the Glitter collection polishes (the first one I've shown here) and I'm showing the one with square glitter today. Yes, Flormar is doing square glitter now!

The first picture is in the light box and shows you that the square pieces are silver but they have a mirror like reflection that goes literally crazy in direct light. I layered GL01 over Kiko 341 Cobalt Green, a gorgeous teal creme that looks like this.

341 is a very interesting color but it was impossible to photograph. It looked a lot more blue than it is in reality and so I had to alter the photos so they looked more true to color. The formula is great, like with all Kiko cremes. What you see above are 2 coats with no top coat. Very shiny, if I can say so myself!

Now let's go back to our glitter. There is a slight problem with the formula because the square pieces float in a very abundant clear base. They don't apply evenly on the nail and have to be "placed" with the brush so they don't end up in just one spot. While I was placing them, a lot of the clear base was gathering on the nail, which led to bubbles. You can see some of them if you enlarge my pictures. Probably a good idea would be to apply two thin coats and wait a lot between them so the clear base dries properly and doesn't bubble. I'm not very patient so I didn't wait enough. Anyway, the clear base dries a bit rubbery so a top coat is in order to make it shiny. Here's the craziness that goes on in direct light.

That's the good thing about this polish, it looks like you have tiny diamonds on your nails. And the diamonds are square! I can forgive the formula just for that. And of course the price is unbeatable. Now head over to the other blogs to see some more glitter:
