Green Gradient

Hello my lovelies and happy Sunday! I wanted to get this post up earlier but I got attacked by a huge headache last night and it was still there in the morning. So finally, after more than 12 hours, it's gone and I can think straight again. Today I will be showing you a gradient. The thing with these is that I'm not that good at making them and every time I do one I end up not liking it too much. I went on a gradient spree last week and created a bunch of these, so you'll be seeing them in my next posts. The first one is green.

To create this manicure, I started with a white base (Sation Strumming My Nails is my go to white) and then I sponged the two colors, Nicole by OPI Alex by the Books and Illamasqua Nomad. Of course I wasn't too happy with how it came out and a simple gradient mani is pretty boring anyway, so I added some stamping on top.

For the stamping I chose an image from plate CH37 that looks pretty cool. To me these look like fans and they seemed appropriate for a summery manicure. To make it extra interesting I used a holo polish to stamp, Kiko 401. Here's how it looks in the sun.

I really liked how this came out in the end. I'm not ready to show my gradients without stamping but I think this way they look a lot better.

The next two gradients I did were with acrylics and they came out a bit better. I'm still not 100% happy with my gradients but I'm slowly getting there. What do you think?

I feel like my gradients aren't perfect either... but don't worry no one will scrutinize them like you will lol... The gradient makes a nice background for the stamping though :)

  7. Thanks! You are totally right. But I think photos sometimes make them look less blended. They definitely look better in real life.
