Where In The World Challenge: Brazil

Hello lovelies and happy Sunday! I have finally managed to get to the second-to-last country of the Where In The World Challenge. That means I only have one country to go, namely my country, Romania. I really hope I come up with something good for that one. But until then, today we're talking about Brazil. When you think of Brazil, there are a few things that always come to mind, like football, the carnival or the beach. I decided to dig a little deeper and found out that Brazil is one of the world's largest jewelry manufacturers and they use gemstones that are mined locally. I chose to do an emerald inspired look for this post.

The initial idea was to use the glitter placement technique because I had these beautiful green glequins to play with. I didn't want to do just that, so I did an accent finger of OPI Mermaid's Tears and used a diamond shaped image from a no name stamping plate on top. I also used A-england Saint George for the stamping. This looked better in reality but somehow it didn't photograph accurately and the accent nail looked more blue in the photos than in real life.

I didn't feel that the accent finger matched the rest of the nails very well. So I covered it with one coat of China Glaze Smoke and Ashes, a very dark polish with little green flecks. It ended up looking like this.

In the picture above you can see the amazing mirror effect of the glitter pieces. I used my wax pen to place them and it was a lot easier than with a toothpick. I still need to figure out how to cut the glitters so they fit the spaces on the edges. I tried using scissors and nail clippers but the result wasn't that great. Anyway, here's a shot of all the sparkliness in the sun.

I really don't know how I feel about these nails. Somehow I wasn't happy with neither of the accent nails so maybe I should have skipped the idea altogether. You can tell me in the comments which option you like better. Don't forget to check out some more Brazil manicures in the links below!
