Astor Elegant Amethyst

Hello my lovelies and happy Sunday! As I promised yesterday, I am back with another post in an attempt to get rid of all the pictures I gathered in my blog folder. These are from almost two months ago so it was high time for me to post them. It's been a long time since I've showed you a textured polish on the blog. I must admit that I'm kinda over the trend and I haven't purchased any new ones in a long time, so the ones I post here and there are borrowed ones. I do love the ones I already own and I occasionally wear them or use them for nail art. Today's polish comes from a brand called Astor and was kindly lent to me by a friend.

Elegant Amethyst is a burgundy textured polish with tons of gold shimmer. It's one of those polishes that look more purple or red depending on the light. The base is sort of purple but it's quite sheer so it's not very visible after you put it on the nail. The name seems totally wrong to me because amethyst is much more purple. To prove it, I took a picture holding a necklace that contains real amethysts. You can see the color is very different.

I used two coats for these swatches and application was pretty average for this type of polish. It dried very fast, which was great. This polish totally reminded me of something I have in my collection, namely my beloved p2 Seductive, so I had to do a comparison. I was surprised to see they were almost identical. The difference is so small that you don't even notice it. The Astor seems to dry a little faster, which is always a plus.

Seductive seems to be long discontinued, along with the whole Sand Style line. So if you missed it or didn't have access to it, Elegant Amethyst is a very good dupe. I'm not sure where the Astor brand is available though. I'm glad I got to try this out and let you all know about it. I wish you all an amazing Sunday!

  1. Na asta da! Eu personal nu vad absolut nici o diferenta. Mi se par identice. Foarte frumoasa si comparatia cu lantisorul. Duminica placuta :*

  5. That very pretty. I like plum/gold polishes and bonus if they are textured and glittery.
