Monday Blues: OPI I Have A Herring Problem

Hello lovelies! Monday again and time for some blue. I won't go on about how sorry I am that the weekend is over because you already know that. Instead I will just complain about the weather considering it's so depressing that it doesn't make me want to come out of bed today. To go with the season I have a greyish type of blue that is part of a spring collection but is great for this time of the year too.

IHAHP is a slate blue packed with silver shimmer. It's a bit more grey than it shows up in my pictures but it's definitely blue. I had to choose between this one and I Don't Give A Rotterdam and that one was a true grey. The shimmer in this one is so pretty and dense! There are not many polishes that have a shimmer like this in them.

The problem with this polish is the questionable formula it has. I understand that Zoya has a dupe with a better formula, but I don't have access to that brand so I'll just have to settle for this one. It's thin, sheer and applies streaky so it needs 3 coats to look good. That is pretty unusual for a shimmer polish but given that it dries very fast and it's such a gorgeous color, I'll accept it.

I wore this color the first day of school and it was actually my Instagram followers who helped me choose it. I also asked them if I should photograph it since my nails were so short and a lot of them said I should so here I am. I really enjoyed this polish on my nails and will probably wear it again this season.

  1. Your OPI is very prettu! As for the weather we have had the same weather here, all year long; At least over there you had a summer. My summer was 13°C in june, 20 °in august.

  2. This is such a lovely polish!! Sorry the formula wasn't the greatest. And I know what you mean about the weather. While we have a beautiful day today, it's supposed to be the last nice one :(. Stay warm babes!

  5. That sucks! But we also had 35 for a big part of the summer and that's unpleasant too. I prefer medium temperatures in the summer.

  6. Thank you Marisa! Yeah it's a shame about the formula but I'm willing to take it for such a great shade. The weather has been all over the place here! We had like one sunny day yesterday and now it's foggy and cold. Really depressing. Trying to stay warm by wearing boots when other people refuse to.

  7. Yep, so awesome! Zoya Skylar is very close but not identical. I saw them on Debbie Crumpet's blog when they first came out and I know that the Zoya has a much better formula. But it's impossible for me to get hold of Zoya at a decent price. I found this one on sale so it came home with me.

  8. There were a lot of great shades in that collection but I feel like some of them were not that original. This one however is pretty special!
