Purple with a Purpose

Hello my lovelies! I hope your week is going great so far. I'm rather busy and don't have a lot of time or patience to write posts, but I managed to do these nails that serve two important purposes. First off, Golden Rose Romania is running a nail art contest on their Facebook page and I couldn't miss it. Secondly, November is Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month, a cause very dear to me, so I had to do at least one purple manicure to support the cause.

It's not something I do very often, but I decided to do sort of a skittle manicure for this contest. I usually like to have pretty much the same colors on all my nails, or just one accent nail, but this time I went all out. It's kinda hard for my OCD to accept it, but the fact that the colors and designs complement each other helps a lot. I used 3 Golden Rose polishes for this design.

Golden Rose Paris 202 is an old friend of mine, while the other two are newer additions to my collection. Golden Rose Rich Color 41 is a great purple creme that was kindly sent to me for review, so there will be a separate post with swatches for that one. It's a bit more purple and less blue than my pictures show. Golden Rose Rich Color 35 is a black creme that I purchased myself because I love this collection and I needed a good black. What I can say so far is that it has that same great formula of Rich Color polishes, fast drying time, but it still needs 2 coats to become opaque.

The technique that I used for most of the designs is the tape one, except for the middle finger that has a sponged gradient. I used special crafting scissors to cut my tape for the ring finger, striping tape for the index finger and just a triangle of regular scotch tape for the pinkie.

Even though it's not something I'm very comfortable with, I loved how this manicure came out. Don't forget that you can support the fight against pancreatic cancer by going to this page and finding out more about how you can bring awareness. I hope you've enjoyed this post and I hope to talk to you all very soon!
