China Glaze Kalahari Kiss

Hello lovelies! It's the weekend, woohoo! Unfortunately I won't be having so much fun this weekend because I have to study. I'm still looking forward to the local blogger meeting I'm going to today. Can't wait to meet everybody! I have a pretty controversial polish for you today. Some love it, some hate it, let's see what I think of it.

I know my photos are terrible, but I really love this polish. For some reason it came out kinda muddy in the photos and my skin is not that great either. But I assure you it looks much better in reality! I swatched this two times and while I loved it every single time, the photos were unbelievably bad. There are many people who hate this polish, so I guess it's one of those "love it or hate it" kind of shades.

I must admit that I have no idea how to describe this color. The closest color I found to this is called buff and it's described as a pale yellow-brown. It is definitely yellow toned and that's why I was sure I wouldn't like it on me. But after seeing it on the lovely Julie, who has a skin tone similar to mine, I bit the bullet and ordered it. I don't regret it one bit!

The formula of this polish was slightly thick and very pigmented. The only reason it needed 2 coats was because of the bald spots. It has a tendency to drag and pool at the cuticles, so a more careful application is needed. To spice it up a bit I layered some China Glaze I'm Not Lion on the tips.

I think these 2 polishes from the On Safari collection were just made for each other. I'm Not Lion is a spectacular glitter (check out the post about it if you missed it) and I don't regret getting Kalahari Kiss even if photographing it was so hard.
