Monday Blues: S-he Stylezone 295 and Seventeen 104

Hello my lovelies! I hope you are not too sad that it's Monday today. My only consolation is that the sun is shining and it's still pretty warm for this time of the year. Despite that fact, my nails are already in fall mode, so today I will show you a very dark and vampy manicure. The polishes from today's post have no names, just numbers, which is pretty annoying but what can I do. Let's start with the first one.

295 from the Austrian brand S-he Stylezone (found at DM drugstores) is a very dark navy blue with just a hint of purple. Compared to the other dark blues in my collection it does look slightly more purple, but it's still a blue shade. I was randomly browsing through the S-he display when I saw this and couldn't put it down. I'm a sucker for vampy shades and this one has something special. It's just gorgeous!

I didn't have any issues with application, even though the polishes from this line tend to be on the thicker side. I did 2 thin coats but I think one thicker coat would be enough to get it opaque. It dried pretty fast, which is normal because it's supposed to be a quick dry nail polish. I was also very happy with how this photographed, given that dark shades are usually very hard to capture in pictures. This one was a piece of cake and I think my pictures show the shade pretty accurately.

I would also like to mention that this doesn't look black unless you are in very low light. The slight blue tint tends to show usually on the nail. After wearing it for one day by itself, I needed to spice it up so I pulled out some flakies that I've had for a while but never showed on the blog.

This flakie topper is from the brand Seventeen and it's number 104. It consists of blue/purple iridescent flakies in a clear base. They look very subtle and delicate, even layered over a dark background like this. I also wore them over a lighter polish and they were even more subtle that way. I really like the effect you can achieve with just one coat because if you wipe the clear base off the brush there will still be a lot of flakies left on it, so you can cover the whole nail like you see in my pictures. The flakies usually look blue, but they can also look more purple depending on the light. Here's a shot taken in the sun.

This was such a long post but I hope you've enjoyed it. Kudos to those of you that have made it until the end! Don't forget that there are more blues in the links below!

Have a great week!

Pretty! I like how it's really dark but you can still tell it's navy... I especially love it with the flakies! I like how the flakies make it more interesting without being too over the top :)
